GOD BLESS RITA
Rita was very ill ten years ago and almost lost her life then she was in hostpital for six months
and she had three operations.but pulled through as rita said it was the thought of coming home to
her dogs that spurred her recovery from two brain haemorrhages and a massive heart attack.
but Rita was told how her two beloved dogs were given new homes by Bradford Social Services as she
battled for life in hospital.It was a fairy tale ending for the 60-year-old, of Thornton, Bradford,
who was fighting for her life in hospital, when new owners were found to look after her prized
dogs.Mike Craig, manager of the riva bingo who spearheaded a £400 fundraising campaign to pay for
for ritas dogs back for concerned rita, said he was "thrilled to bits".
rita said she felt ecstatic as she hugged nine-year-old Yorkshire terrier Benjamin at the Riva
Bingo Club, in Tong Street, Bradford, .The crowd openly wept as the two dogs - commonly known to
rita as 'my boys' were bought on stage to see her."I just want to thank everyone at the Telegraph &
Argus, the bingo club and (Terry Singh dog warden) for all their help. I am so grateful," she said::
Sadley after a few years tiny and benjumin passed away but she had also then got bonnie that she
bought as a pup,


FROM THAT DAY ON RITA STARTED TO GET BETTER AND I STARTED TAKING HER TO LINEDANCING SHE JUST DID HER
OWN THING BUT LOVED GOING.THEN TO BINGO WITH ME.UNTILL ONE NIGHT SHE GOT MUGGED BY A DRUG ADDICT AT
HER GATE HE GRABED HER ROUND THROTE AND TOOK HER BAG ALSO THEY WHERE GOING IN HER HOUSE TAKING LARGE
AMOUNTS OF MONEY UNTILL IN THE END I THINK RITA GAVE UP.AS POOR SOUL DIED SIX MONTHS LATER ,BUT YOU
WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED RITA BY ME AS LONG AS I LIVE .

Miss you rita you are now safe at last .you where the best friend i ever had. i you will never
forget you .you where such fun to be with always made people laugh ,spoke your mind. like when we
went to bingo shouting out at the bloody back again .same winners all the time hear fixed.we have
come to win as well you know .but people used to laught when you shouted it out.you where liked by

COULD TELL ANYTHING TOO AND WOULD NEVER TELL ANYONE.SHE ONLY SAW VERY FEW PEOPLE THAT WAS ME. MY
DAUGHTER LYNDA.HILLARY. MARGERET. AND TONY THE PET SHOP MAN.

I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HER SPIRIT AND HER GREAT LOVE FOR THE DOGS. I AM SURE SHE
AWAITS ALL OF HER FRIENDS AT THE "GOLDEN GATES" RITA WAS FOUND DEAD IN BED ON THE 1st JUNE 2006 BY
ME AND MY DAUGHTER LYNDA. SHE HAD BEEN THERE FOR 2 DAYS WITH HER POOR DOG AT THE SIDE OF HER,BUT
BONNIE HER DOG IS VERY HAPPY NOW WITH HER NEW OWNER.THE SONGS PLAYING ARE WHAT ME AND MY DAUGHTER
CHOSE TO BE PLAYED AT HER FUNERAL AS RITA LOVED THIS KIND OF MUSIC, LOVED AND ALWAYS REMEMBERED BY
